What does Miso do with an Instagram recipe?

Miso Cook turns the recipe in an Instagram caption into a recipe you can actually cook from. Share a post or Reel to Miso from the share sheet on your iPhone or iPad, and it reads the caption, pulls out the ingredients and steps, and lets you check them before saving. Saved recipes live in your Miso collection, where you can change the portions, add them to your weekly meal plan and put the ingredients on a grocery list your household shares. The free plan includes 5 recipe imports a month.

Instagram Saved isn't a recipe box

Saved collections are great for ideas, but they store posts, not recipes. Finding last month's pasta means scrolling through a grid of thumbnails, expanding the caption and jumping between ingredients and steps. Posts can also disappear when a creator archives or deletes them.

A recipe saved in Miso is searchable text that stays put, scales to the number of people you're feeding and turns into a shopping list.

Reels, carousels and captions

Miso reads the caption. That covers most recipe posts and Reels, where creators type the ingredients and method under the video. If the recipe only appears in the video or in carousel images, there is no text to import; save the written version from the creator's website instead.

"Comment RECIPE" and link-in-bio posts

When a creator sends the recipe as a link by direct message or puts it in their bio, open the link, wait for the recipe page to load in your browser, then share that page to Miso. Recipe websites usually list exact quantities, so these imports are often the most complete.
